1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SE
In September of 1972 the W116 chassis was introduced and was the first vehicle to be officially recognized by Mercedes-Benz as the "S Class". The 450SE was introduced in March of 1972 primarily for the U.S. market. The curb weight was a solid 3,995 lbs. but it still turned a 0 to 60 time of 9.3 seconds. 1973 was the only year the "European style" small bumpers were available on a U.S. market W116 vehicle as the DOT standards changed in 1974. The list price on a 450SE in 1973 was $13,491.00.

1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SE This particular 1973 450SE, in DB422 Byzantine Gold Metallic, spent most of it's life in California before making it's way to Massachusetts. It was recently purchased on E-Bay by an E.A.S. customer who lives in Wisconsin. While at our shop it underwent the E.A.S. "list" of mechanical improvements, a full leather and carpet set replacement, paintless ding removal, and a full detail. On Friday 6/11, the owner took it on an 1,100 mile drive to it's new home in Wisconsin.
