280SL, 300SL, 350SL, 380SL, 420SL, 450SL, 500SL and 560SL
In April of 1971 the successor for W113 Chassis SL (230SL, 250SL, and 280SL) was unveiled. Designated the R107, it has had the second longest production run of all Mercedes-Benz chassis, ending an eighteen year run in 1989 with a total of 237,387 built. SL means "Sports Leicht" or "Sport Light", but with an average curb weight of about 3400 lbs it was never sporty or light. It was however a break though in combining safety, power, and luxury to a two-seater, becoming one of the most iconic grand touring roadsters ever built.
They are certainly a shop favorite and it is very rare not to have a few in the our parking lot on any given day. Our staff has worked on hundreds of the R107 Chassis Roadsters, so put our knowledge and experience to work for all your R107 needs.
